Artisans, technicians, needle arts
enthusiasts, pet lovers and avid readers are all afforded a special place to pursue their
individual interests. Care has been taken and expenditures made to provide state-of
-the-art facilities with topnotch volunteers and contracted instructors/monitors to
provide a safe, challenging environment for all levels of expertise.
| Rock &
Gem Shop |
Only a stone's
throw away is a "gem" of a group! The lapidary shop is open weekdays. Classes
are available for $15.00 with instruction in rock slabbing, cutting, grinding and
polishing, cutting and shaping of stone for jewelry applications, clocks, bookends,
tables, etc. Discussions are held on how to identify various rocks, including semiprecious
gemstones. Monthly meetings with exposure to rock hounding, cutting, and identification of
rocks are highlighted by expert field guest speakers. Pick and identify

Shop: Where
clever craftsmen and women create jewelry, collectibles and many extraordinary pieces.
It's an experience just to wander through and gaze at art in action. |
| Sewing Room |
No loose
threads here! Get involved in craft classes, rag basket weaving, sweatshirt styling, bunny
building and sewing. Quilting classes are offered and Quilting Club meets on Thursday
nights. Sew

In the
Hobby Shop area amenities are a table saw; cordless drill; band saw; radial saw and drill
press. |
| Electronics
Building |
For all the
computer nuts, the facility accommodates PC users, MAC fans, HAM radio
operators and FAX machine utilizers. A total of 15 computers are available for use at any
given time. Electronics Club members teach classes on MS Word; Internet Search;
Orientation to PCs & MACs; Layout/Setup Skills. Laptop users may go online
in the Library or at the Administration Building.

On the
"honor system," books may be checked out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The
library sponsors a series of cultural programs on Saturday afternoons. Speakers are drawn
from Arizona Humanities Council. |
| Pet Walk |
Is your pet
peeved? Rover restless? Take him to the new Pet Run Area and he'll be in "doggie
heaven." Featuring tree-lined paths, the miniature arboretum identifies
desert-friendly plantings and is to be enjoyed by pet owners, as well. So, unleash that
excess energy and speed Rover on over to the clover! |

Knowledgeable
monitors supervise, instruct and provide help and suggestions. A fully equipped modern
facility boasts
lathes, table saws, drills, planer, joiner, sanders,.shaper plus
many hand tools. |

Glass/Hobby Shop |
Artistry comes
in many forms and our artisans have banded together to share the beauty of stained glass
and hand-carved works. We offer a fun atmosphere, first-class equipment and spacious
facilities to allow your creativity to flow into your designs. |

Checkout
everything you need for a party! Punch bowls, decorations, coffee pots, ice coolers,
tablecloths, tables and chairs may all be borrowed by stopping at the Activity Office
Front Desk. We also have a limited supply of medical supplies including wheelchairs,
walkers, canes, etc. |

Library |
With over 500
movies to choose from, feel free to borrow up to two videos for a three day period. Videos
and Audio Cassettes checkouts are conducted at the Activity Office during normal business
hours. |
