The Worship Service at Venture Out is organized by a Worship Committee
composed of 12 VO Christian residents who want to be sure we have a
God-centered, uplifting, meaningful, nondenominational service each
Sunday from the end of October through early April. Every service is
moderated by a member of the Worship Committee. We have an interesting
speaker each Sunday and our service is enhanced by singing of beloved
hymns and by special music performed by the Venture Out Choir (all
residents, both owners and renters are invited to participate in the
choir). The offering each week goes to local charities, such as food
banks, needy churches in the area, a local food kitchen and groups that
help needy children. These charities include groups like the Salvation
Army, St. Vincent de Paul, American Churches of the Nazarene and
Sunshine Acres Children’s Home. We also support some special
activities: fall and spring collections of used clothing and household
goods for the LA Churches of the Nazarene and offerings of wrapped toys
for their children at Christmas time. At one time we had our own church
library, but that has been added to the Venture Out Library and has
become one of the library’s most used sections.
